Health Care and Abundance

About Health Care and Abundance

I’m excited to join my colleagues from the “Abundance Accelerator” of the Possibility Lab at the Goldman School, University of California, Berkeley. This group is composed of twelve subject-area experts who are collaborating to identify policies, processes, and products that will expand access to Californians, and Americans, of essential goods such as housing, transportation, energy, education, and health care. My focus, as the health care subject expert, is on ways that abundant American health care spending can be translated into abundant health. I am using the “abundance” framework both to complement and to put into perspective traditional approaches to health reform that focus on subsidizing demand and controlling costs. I am focusing on health-related social factors, workforce, pharmaceutical and device development, digital health and personalized medicine. Below are links to reports, summits, and records of convenings connected to this multiyear (2024-26) project.
